"WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh will join with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem and Vidant Health in Greenville, the health care system affiliated with East Carolina University, to form a new company that each says will allow them to gain benefits of scale, but still maintain their independence."
