PQCNC was out and about this month and enjoyed visiting four hospital team this month to learn first hand about the work they are doing and share insights with the rest of the collaborative. We were also fortunate this month to have the folks from the Granville team give a webinar presentation on how they have achieved a low incidence of C-Sections. Drilling down in the data collected so far has shown an increase in the likelihood of a C-section for the obese pregnant patient. Accordingly this month brought a tight focus on the definition of obesity in pregnancy, the incidence of obesity in pregnancy, maternal and fetal effects of obesity and management strategies for the obese pregnant patient.
