Sharing our successes…

The CMC-Pineville Perinatal Quality Improvement Team (PQIT) presented their hemorrhage protocol on the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC) webinar “Revisiting the Quantification of Blood Loss.” They provided details regarding their team approach to obstetric hemorrhage including risk assessment, IV access, management of uterine atony, active management of stage 3, quantitative blood loss (QBL) measurement, and care events.  They shared their data which reflects 100% QBL which has resulted in improved maternal outcomes including decreased ICU admissions and eliminated the incidence of unplanned peripartum hysterectomies since April of 2014, “helping to make NC the best place to give birth and be born.”
