Connections that matter

This year focused areas will include discussions involving links between nerve, vascular, and immune system developments in the eye and brain, and mechanisms that may help explain the recurring epidemiologic evidence that severe ROP is linked with worse neurodevelopmental outcome, and how clinicians can influence these processes. In addition, we will discuss nutritional contributions to NICU outcomes, and recent testing of novel strategies for mechanical ventilation and rationales for transfusion thresholds in preterm infants.

The 11th annual Dialogues in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine will be March 23 – 25th, 2014. New technologies to look at both the brain and the developing retina.
