Pilot complete, Phase II underway…

Perinatal Quality Improvement Teams (PQITs) from across NC attended the NAS Phase II Learning Session.  Guest Speakers included Marty Hatlie, JD, President of Partnership for Patient Safety speaking on patient and family engagement and “Lessons Learned from Patient Safety Advocates, and neonatologist Alan Picarillo MD from UMass Memorial Medical Center speaking on “Learning from our Fellow State Collaboratives: The Massachusetts NAS Project.” PQIT’s spent much of the day preparing their work plans and devising PDSAs for this phase of the initiative with the intention of improving the care of neonatal abstinence syndrome.
