Building on lessons learned from the 2018 Birth Certificate Pilot Phase I, PQCNC and the North Carolina State Center for Vital Statistics have embarked on Pilot Phase II to continue to work towards a more accurate birth certificate record. 3 new pilot facilities have joined: Vidant Medical Center, FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, and Cone Health Women's Hospital, and 5 of the 8 hospitals in phase I have chosen to continue these efforts: WakeMed Cary Hospital, WakeMed North, UNC Rex hospital, Duke University Hospital, and Duke Regional Hospital.
