Recently, Frye Medical center began utilizing the CUB birthing stool for labor support. CUB is an acronym for “Comfortable Upright Birth”. The CUB stool is an inflatable device shaped like the letter “C” that allows laboring women to take advantage of multiple support positions. Nursing staff at Frye are using the CUB stool for women with epidurals in place as well, positioning the CUB in the bed. Feedback on the CUB stool from staff and patients has been overwhelmingly positive. Congratulations to the staff at Frye Medical Center for taking steps to further enhance the level of labor support they are able to provide!
