Supporting the Care of Mother-Child Dyad: Building Compassion, Knowledge and Applying Evidence Based Practices to Mothers with Substance Use Disorder and their Children

Tuesday, March 16th at 3pm EST

The rate of mothers who had an opioid-related diagnosis when delivering their baby increased 131% between 2010 and 2017, as the incidence of babies diagnosed with neonatal abstinence syndrome increased by 82% nationally during the same period. Given the focus on the implementation of medications to treat opioid use disorder (OUD) during the perinatal period, many medical, social services, and substance use disorder treatment providers have questions about how to best support both mother and child. This webinar will introduce the mother-child dyad in the context of OUD treatment and ways to promote healthy maternal child attachment.
