PQCNC New Clinical Initiative Manager!

2 years 1 month ago

It is our privilege to formally announce here, though we introduced her at our clOUDi 2.0 Kickoff Meeting, Dr. Elizabeth Balskus! Elizabeth joins PQCNC as a Clinical Initiative Manager to support clinics and hospitals across the state engaged in PQCNC initiatives. Elizabeth comes to North Carolina from the Pennsylvania Perinatal Quality Collaborative, where she worked with hospital teams, community-based organizations, patient and family advocates, health plans and state departments to improve access to and quality of care for families across the state of Pennsylvania. Her doctoral thesis in Healthcare Ethics argues for the ethical necessity of expanding our conception of safety in maternal health through an ethics of care and reproductive justice framework, and her scholarly and clinical work is focused on building equitable systems of care through policy, stakeholder collaboration and community engagement. We are grateful to have Elizabeth join our team and look forward to her invaluable experience being shared with PQCNC as we continue the journey to make North Carolina the best place to give birth and be born. Welcome Elizabeth!
