Over the last year PQCNC has facilitated the refinement of the AIM Cardiac Care in Obstetrics Bundle for launch in North Carolina. We are indebted to the experts from Duke and ECU who have led the creation of the PQCNC Cardiac Conditions in Obstetric Care initiative. This project will address a major cause of maternal mortality in North Carolina. Cardiac Conditions in Obstetric Care will focus on screening, identification and referral of mothers with cardiac conditions. Cardiac Care will launch in January 2025. Given the largely avoidable and preventable maternal mortality we see in North Carolina associated with unrecognized cardiac conditions, we would ask that you and your hospital please consider joining us in this critical project.
