The success of PQCNC is a tribute to the commitment of the many hospital and clinic teams we have had the privilege of working with. Since 2017 PQCNC has awarded its Annual Quality Improvement Award to teams who have demonstrated dedication above and beyond as we all work together in our mission to make North Carolina the best place to give birth and be born.
On January 16th, at our Launch Meeting for new projects for 2025, we awarded our 7th PQCNC Quality Improvement Award to the Duke Hospital PQCNC Perinatal Quality Improvement Team (PQIT). At Duke, leadership from across specialty and stakeholder groups has adopted locally, and led statewide, in the advancement of maternal and newborn projects. Additionally, Duke has piloted PQCNC's project with New Zealand Safe Sleep Experts to develop a Safe Sleep Calculator. Duke has also in partnership with ECU created the pilot program that is the basis for our statewide Cardiac Care in Obstetrics initiative.
Congratulations to the Duke team. This is an award well deserved and hard earned.
