WHAT HAVE WE AGREED TO DO?

We need to collectively:

  • determine the scope of this project
  • create a charter for all teams to utilize
  • decide on goals for the project
  • discuss what data we will be collecting
  • discuss what reports we will be using
  • draft an action plan for all teams to use to forge ahead across the state
  • meet each other face to face to and talk about the amazing work we are doing!

Data Submission Due Dates: Please have all initiative data submitted by the 15th of every month for the previous month i.e. all January data should be submitted by February 15th.

Attention Data Collectors:  Instructions on how to obtain access to Delphi to submit data.

Roster Changes: Please make sure to send me any changes in your team roster.  We would like to be able to provide all team members with the latest information about the initiative and we can only do that with your help.

Webinars: Monthly webinars will be held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 12:00pm beginning Wednesday March 11th.  Please go ahead and reserve these dates on your calendars.  Your team will need to schedule at least monthly meetings to review data, make plans for PDSA cycles, and plan for next steps.  Please set up times to meet with your Executive Champions to update them on your progress and to ask for their help to meet your goals. PQCNC would suggest you meet with them every other month but no less than every quarter.

YOUR RESOURCE FOR COMPREHENSIVE NICU FAMILY SUPPORT

In January 2014, the National Perinatal Association convened a broad group of nearly 50 thought leaders and stakeholders. We came together with the common purpose of improving the level of psychosocial support provided to NICU parents – as well as improving training and support for those who provide care in NICUs. The resulting recommendations were published in December 2015. Learn about our process and the recommendations we developed here

FOR PARENTS

Use this website to understand and explore your feelings as you adjust to your new role as a NICU parent. Find resources here to help you become more involved in your baby’s care and more aware of what you can do to strengthen your bond.

FOR PROFESSIONALS

If you work in a NICU—whether as a neonatologist, nurse practitioner, bedside nurse, neonatal therapist, or other staff—you have experienced firsthand how stressful it can be to care for tiny, fragile babies whose lives may hang in the balance.  Those babies’ parents are experiencing stress as well, and need your support.  Search our resources to help you improve your care and support of parents and your own NICU staff here.
